Builds & run planner

Six Warhammer Survivors demo routes that start from a real problem — crowd clear, squad scaling, mobility, survival — plus a planner that checks a champion, weapon and companion against the public evolution table.

Tool 02 / run planner

Check a loadout before the run

Choose a champion, a base weapon and a passive companion. The planner checks the public evolution table, then gives you the evidence level and a copyable plan. Your choices stay in this browser.

  • Works offline; no account or server.
  • Empty “No documented pairing” results are useful too.
  • A match is a lead, not a guaranteed launch recipe.

Pick a champion, weapon and companion to see the documented route. Use the evolution finder for the full table.

These are editorial build routes for the October 2026 demo and announced launch content. They are not official stat sheets. Community-reported recipes are labelled; exact levels, damage values and final balance may change at launch.

Six routes / October demo

Choose by the problem

Every route links to its champion, weapon and reported evolution. Reported pairings are labelled.

01Warhammer 40,000Beginner crowd clear

Chain Vanguard

A low-friction first build: keep the Chainsword’s horizontal arcs in front of the horde, add movement, and let the reported Eviscerator evolution carry the mid-run.

Upgrade order

  1. Area and damage for the Chainsword
  2. Attack speed or cooldown so the arcs overlap
  3. Movement speed before the first elite wave
  4. One defensive passive if the surround rate rises

Play pattern

Move in wide arcs and turn only after the pack commits. Do not reverse into a fresh line of enemies to finish a straggler.

Caedo’s Chainsword is official. The Tape Measure → Eviscerator Chainsword recipe is community-reported from the October demo, not developer-confirmed.

02Age of SigmarArea melee / evolution lesson

Tempest Storm

The cleanest evolution demonstration in the demo: take Tempest Axes and Sabaton, keep the axe arcs overlapping, and use the movement passive to stay in the pocket without getting surrounded.

Upgrade order

  1. Tempest Axes area and damage
  2. Sabaton movement
  3. Attack speed to tighten the spin cycle
  4. Pickup range only after mobility feels safe

Play pattern

Circle the pack at the edge of axe range. Cut across the front, not through the centre, and let the next swing meet the enemies following you.

IGN evolved Tempest Axes into Whirlwind Axes after picking and levelling Sabaton in the October demo. The exact level threshold is not published.

03Warhammer 40,000Squad scaling / ranged

Cadian Firing Line

Turn the Lasgun into a moving firing line. Every Lasgun level adds Cadian squadmates, and those followers also feed the Castellan’s damage if he is in the squad.

Upgrade order

  1. Lasgun levels for extra squadmates
  2. Damage and attack speed for the firing line
  3. Movement to keep the squad’s target in range
  4. Pickup range to bank experience without stopping

Play pattern

Fight in open lanes and strafe around the pack. The Cadians add damage, not a wall; they do not replace the need to keep moving.

The Lasgun’s Cadian squad scaling is official. Gauntlet → Meltagun is a community-reported pairing. The Castellan combo is official but the Castellan is not in the October demo.

04Warhammer 40,000Mobile area control

Grenadier Hit-and-Run

Use Catachan’s extra speed to lead packs into grenade clusters, then add the reported poisoned Ripper Pistol as a bonus rather than replacing the grenades.

Upgrade order

  1. Frag Grenade area and damage
  2. Move speed to keep the throw line open
  3. Bandolier for the reported evolution
  4. One recovery or health upgrade before the boss

Play pattern

Throw ahead of the chase, not into the enemies already touching you. Turn after the blast, not before it, so the pack stays inside the radius.

Catachan’s Frag Grenade start and speed are official. Bandolier → Ripper Pistol is community-reported; one report says Bandolier must be maxed and the grenade remains.

05Age of SigmarDurable area damage

Brazier Bulwark

Lean on Ulgromthier’s higher starting health and arcing magma to hold ground long enough for the staff to clear a path. This is a forgiving build for players who keep dying in the first five minutes.

Upgrade order

  1. Brazier Staff damage and area
  2. Movement speed so the extra health is not spent standing still
  3. Attack speed or cooldown for denser arcs
  4. Recovery if poison or ranged pressure is high

Play pattern

Fight at medium range, not inside the pack. The extra health buys one mistake, not a permanent tanking licence.

Ulgromthier’s higher starting health and arcing Brazier Staff magma are official. Liquid Green Stuff → Master of Runes is community-reported.

06Age of SigmarControl / rescue

Ghost Hook

Use hooks to pull dangerous enemies out of formation and keep rescue objectives clear. The reported White Dwarf pairing leads to the official Ghost of Rhea evolution.

Upgrade order

  1. Rope and Grapnel damage and area
  2. Cooldown reduction for more hooks
  3. Movement speed to reposition between edges
  4. A defensive layer for objectives where you cannot kite freely

Play pattern

Approach rescue rings from the outside, hook the nearest cluster, then move before the pack closes. The hook is a reset button, not a substitute for positioning.

Lyssa’s hook behaviour and the Ghost of Rhea evolution are official. White Dwarf as the required companion is community-reported.

Editorial method

Official claims, press observations and community reports are kept separate. Where Auroch has not published a value, this guide says so instead of filling the gap.
